Alappuzha piped gas project is nearing completion

The ambitious project of supplying piped natural gas (PNG) to individual houses in Alappuzha is nearing completion. When the City Gas project begins next month, approximately 11,900 households in Cherthala municipality and Vayalar grama panchayat will receive piped gas in their kitchens.

The project's storage and distribution plants in Thankey, near Cherthala, were recently commissioned.

The project in Alappuzha has been entrusted to AG&P Pratham by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board. AG&P Pratham officials stated that once connected to the GAIL pipeline, the project would be expanded to other parts of the district.

Alappuzha's Rs 30 billion project would be completed in eight years.

A total of 5,792 people have registered for the project in Vayalar panchayat. Plumbing and metre installation have been completed in 3,970 homes. In Cherthala, there have been 6,057 registrations. Plumbing, metre installation, and other related work has been completed in 2,856 homes.
