Mapusa to Launch Rs 240 Million Projects for Urban Development
Mapusa will soon unveil infrastructure projects worth Rs 240 million, spearheaded by the Goa State Urban Development Agency (GSUDA), aimed at improving the town’s civic and commercial infrastructure.
Key projects include a six-floor commercial complex near Alankar Theatre in Angod and the renovation of the old municipal building into a modern library. These initiatives are designed to support Mapusa’s growth and improve quality of life for residents.
Additionally, the town is undergoing further infrastructure enhancements, such as a Rs 80 million road-widening project between Gandhi Chowk and Bodgeshwar Temple. The stretch will be expanded to four lanes to ease traffic congestion.
More road projects valued at Rs 310 million are also set to begin, reflecting a larger effort to strengthen urban connectivity and public amenities. These works are part of a coordinated development plan by agencies like the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) and GSUDA to modernise Mapusa’s infrastructure.
Together, these upgrades mark a significant step toward accommodating the town’s growing population and boosting economic activity.
