Cement firms look for green pastures in Telangana

As the formation of separate Telangana state out of Andhra Pradesh seems to be imminent, cement companies expect to garner about one lakh crore rupees worth business in the proposed new state. The cement companies say the new state will require to build a new capital of its own comprising a legislature house, secretariat, high court, housing facilities for government employees and other constructions.

Cement industry executives say formation of Telangana will bring more business in the Telangana area. The political uncertainty had hit the cement business in AP especially Telangana and Hyderabad areas, where the protests have been intense all these years. Industry experts say even NRIs will now invest in non-Hyderabad cities like Vizag, Vijayawada, Guntur and other cities in the state.
