MEIL acquires 15 city gas distribution projects in 9 states

Hyderabad-based Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) has acquired 15 city gas distribution (CGD) projects across nine states.

According to the company statement, bids for these CGD projects were opened on Friday.

On Friday, the company told the media that the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) had called for the 11th round of bidding of CGD projects for 65 geographical areas (GA) across India earlier.

MEIL had proposed 43 GAs. MEIL has appeared as the successful bidder for the highest number of geographical areas (GA) across India winning proposals for 15 geographical areas.

The states where the projects are to be implemented are Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Punjab, Odisha, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh.

Without sharing any financial data, it said that the scope of work under the CGD project comprises developing city gate stations or mother stations, laying the main pipeline and distribution pipelines except setting up CNG stations.

The CGD strives at boosting green fuel (natural gas) like piped natural gas (PNG) for households and industries (for domestic or industrial consumption) and additionally compressed natural gas (CNG) utilised as fuel for vehicles and the automobile industry.

In the 10th round of bidding for CGD projects, MEIL was granted three GAs in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka.

Hyderabad-based MEIL is among the significant infrastructure firms in India, having a presence in about 10 nations.
