Adani Power to expand capacity of Tiroda plant

Adani Power Ltd (APL) will expand the capacity of it鈥檚 under construction thermal power plant at Tiroda in Maharashtra, to 3,300 MW. The company had initially planned to produce 1,980 MW. Expanding the capacity will involve a total investment of nearly Rs 14,000 crore. The project is being implemented by subsidiary Adani Power Maharashtra Ltd. The company hopes to start generating power by the end of 2010. Adani Power has signed a power purchase agreement with Maharashtra Electricity Company Ltd for 1,320 MW.
