GVK to triple Goindwal Power Plant capacity

GVK group plans to increase the capacity of the under construction GVK Goindwal Sahib Thermal Plant in Amritsar by 1320 MW to 1860 MW. The expansion of the capacity will be done by setting up two more units of 660 MW each in addition to the two units of 270 MW being set up.

The GVK group is confident to start generating power from this plant much ahead of the scheduled timeline of December 2011.
