Goa asks Centre to allot 100 MW

With an aim to gain more power in the state, the Goa Government has requested the Centre to allot at least 100 MW power from unallocated capacities of coal base or nuclear base stations such as Kaiga nuclear power plant. This initiative has been taken to cope with the shortfall and also provide financial assistance for a few schemes. The power ministry has reported that the total availability of power for Goa is 430 MW, while the state´s maximum peak demand for the year is around 540 MW. The state has always faced power deficit to the tune of 100 MW.
