Intra-state transmission line started in Maharashtra

Jaigad Power Transco, a JV between JSW Energy and Maharashtra State-owned MahaTransco, has commissioned a 400 kV intra-state power transmission project in the state. The transmission system comprises a 400 kV double circuit. Jaigad-Karad transmission lines will facilitate power evacuation from the 1,200 MW Jaigad project and other generation projects planned in the region. It will also transfer power from a predominant generation node at New Koyna to the load centre at Karad.

FY25 Thermal Power Capacity Addition Misses Target

India added just 4.53 gigawatts (GW) of thermal power capacity in FY25, significantly below the 15.4 GW target, according to the Central Electricity Authority鈥檚 latest report.
