Power crisis in Karnataka to end soon

The perennial power crisis of the state may end soon as major thermal units of the state were assured of constant supply of coal. This is expected to increase power generation by 2,300 MW in Karnataka.

As per the MoU signed between Karnataka Power Corporation (KPCL) and the Singareni Collieries Company (SCCL), supply of coal from the company has been increased by about 50 per cent. The company has decided to increase the supply from 8.6 mt last year to 12mt, as per the MoU. Apart from the supply of coal, production of power too is expected to see a marked increase. One unit of Yermarus Thermal Power Station and two units of Ballari Thermal Power Station are expected to be operational soon. This will increase power generation by 2,300 MW.

Bombay HC Orders MMRDA To Delay Bids for Thane-Ghodbunder Tunnel

The Bombay High Court directed the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to delay opening financial bids for the Thane-Ghodbunder to Bhayandar tunnel and elevated road project until Thursday. Karnataka Considers One-Time Settlement of Contractor Dues
