Talcher power station expansion by 2010

State run power utility National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) plans to enhance the capacity of 460 MW Talcher Thermal Power Station (TTPS) in Orissa by adding two units of 660 MW each. The expansion work is likely to commence by mid-2010.

NTPC鈥檚 other projects to be implemented in Orissa are the 3,200 MW power project at Darliapalli (Sundergarh), the feasibility report for which has received an approval. Similarly, the feasibility report for the proposed 3,200 MW power plant at Gajamara (Dhenkanal) will be ready by January 2010.
