Uttarakhand for JVs to develop hydel projects

The Uttarakhand government has decided to develop three major hydel projects of its hydropower generation company - UJVN Ltd - through JVs for a 42 year lease period. These projects include the 300 MW Bawla Nandprayag, the 100 MW Nandprayag Langasu and the 250 MW Tamaklata, with UJVN sharing 26 per cent equity in the JVs with private companies or PSUs. The total investment in these projects in Chamoli district will be Rs 5,000 crore.
