ACC Limited launches Green Building Centre in Telangana

ACC Limited has opened its state-of-the-art Green Building Centre (GBC) in Telangana's Karimnagar district, reaffirming its commitment to sustainable construction and a greener future.
ACC hopes to have a positive social, environmental, and financial impact on India's developing cities through its GBCs.
In the presence of Koleti Damodar, Chairman, Telangana Police Housing Corporation, and Danish Rashid, Head 鈥� GBC ACC Limited, the centre was inaugurated by Yadagiri Sunil Rao, Mayor, Municipal Corporation of Karimnagar.
The aesthetically designed GBC, which is located in Cherlabutkur village in Karimnagar district, will support Karimnagar, Warangal, and the surrounding rural areas. Local labour has also been trained to make various types of cement bricks using environment friendly construction methods.
To become India's first water-positive unit, Karimnagar GBC is equipped with high capacity curing chambers, the first of its kind in Telangana. A fully equipped in-house quality control laboratory has also been installed to ensure high-quality standards.
The project is in line with the honorable Prime Minister's vision of a Clean India and in addition to provide rural and semi-urban housing solutions.
Local micro-entrepreneurs are also supported by ACC GBCs in the production and distribution of affordable cement-based home building components and pre-fabricated materials such as fly ash bricks, concrete blocks, tiles, pavers, and sanitation units. Local bodies and Panchayats in Karimnagar will gain insights into significantly improving their village infrastructure with these products.
Every month, each GBC enables 100 homes, resulting in 30 direct and 120 indirect jobs. ACC aims to demonstrate its construction expertise and commitment to sustainable rural enterprise as part of its overarching goal of 1 million affordable houses and toilets over the next 10 years.
