Azure Power commissions 600 MW solar project in Rajasthan

Azure Power has recently announced the commissioning of a 600 MWs Interstate Transmission System (ISTS) connected solar project.

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has awarded this project to Azure. The project has been commissioned in different phases. Currently, it is having high-performing operational solar assets of 2,510 MW in the country.

Azure Power announced that it has successfully commissioned a solar power project of 600 MW in Bikaner, Rajasthan. According to the statement, the power that this Rajasthan project will generate will be supplied to SECI. The tariff rates for the same will be Rs 2.53 per kWh for a period of 25 years.

It claims that this project will be the largest solar power project in India that is owned as well as operated at the same location by a developer.

MD and CEO of Azure Power, Ranjit Gupta told the media that this is an incredible way for the company to start the new year. As the project had been initiated during the period of Covid-19 in India, the company faced various challenges in the midst of lockdowns and safety concerns.

Despite the challenges, the company has managed to provide high-performing assets across the country, while maintaining the safety and health of the employees.

The Railway Board has approved a Final Location Survey for a mega coaching terminal near Bengaluru airport.
