BHEL invites bids to supply 1.5 million multi-crystalline solar cells

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has invited bids for the supply of 1.513 million multi-crystalline solar cells with a wattage output of 4.67-watt peak (Wp).

The solar cells should have a length of five busbars and a dimension of 157 卤 0.5 x 157 卤 0.5. The cell's thickness should be 200 卤 20 microns. The solar cells' diagonal variation should not be more than 0.5 mm.

The last date for bids submission is 31 August 2021.

The multi-crystalline cells should be free of mechanical damage, cuts, cracks, spots, edge chipping, missing gridlines, holes, patches, and marks. Also, the solar cells should have a coating of homogeneous silver nitride.

The solar cells should be packed with polythene or polypropylene sachets of not more than 125 solar cells per sachet.

Under the domestic content requirement category, the vendor should have the capacity to supply 78 MW per annum solar cells.

In the last three years, the bidder should have supplied at least 2.5 million cells to solar module producers.

In the last three financial years, the bidder鈥檚 average annual turnover should be not less than Rs 30 million. The cells should be supplied within two weeks from the purchase order issuance.

BHEL recently invited bids to enter into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with manufacturers to obtain multicrystalline and monocrystalline passivated emitter and rear cells (PERC) cells for manufacturing solar modules to meet the 200 MW annual capacity.
