CESL to establish another 900 EV charging stations in 2022

Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) is making plans for the installation of a minimum of 900 more electric vehicles (EV) charging stations across the country in 2022.

The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL).

In a projection for 2022, the authorities are putting their best efforts into the expansion of the total number of charging stations across India, including installing or enabling the installation of 900 more.

Currently, the company has collaborated with several private as well as public companies for establishing public charging infrastructure. For creating such an infrastructure it has partnered with the urban authorities as well.

Among the major requirements for establishing charging infrastructure is land availability. In most cases, the land parcels are provided for free or at minimal rates by the municipal bodies or firms.

As of now, these facilities are being installed by several automobile companies along with private companies that include independent charging infrastructure developers.

The company also has plans for accelerating the e-vehicles adoption process in the country.

It has recently launched an app called 'MyEV' which is a digital marketplace for enabling the deployment of e-vehicles.

Kerala is the first state to launch the 'MyEV' digital marketplace for easier accessibility of booking and buying e-vehicles for consumers.

Additionally, the Gram Ujala scheme is run by the company. Under this scheme high quality LED bulbs of 7 and 12-Watt along with 3 years guarantee are provided for Rs 10 in exchange for working incandescent bulbs.
