Danfoss Power Solutions (DPS) 鈥� a world-class provider of mobile hydraulics for the construction, agriculture and other off-highway vehicle markets 鈥� is all set to inaugurate their new facility in Pune. The company is an Indian subsidiary of Denmark-based Danfoss Group and provides efficiency catering to the rising demand for innovation and development in India鈥檚 urbanisation and electrification journey.

Globally, the company has been at the fore-front of developing advanced solutions to address economic and environmental efficiency across key global mega-trends such as digitalisation, electrification, food supply, infrastructure and climate change.

Speaking on the launch of the new facility in India, Domenico Traverso, President-Work Function, Danfoss Power Solutions & India Board Member, said, 鈥淥ur new Danfoss Power Solutions facility in Pune is testimonial to the growth of our business in India that has been driven solely by our customers. As a company focussed on innovation and development, we believe that this facility will enable us to be a step-ahead to efficiently address the future needs of our customers and the industry in the next phase of India鈥檚 technological transformation journey.鈥�

In lines with the government鈥檚 vision towards 鈥楳ake in India鈥�, around 95 per cent of all the products that are manufactured in the facility use materials and components that are made in India. The company aims to invest on increasing its product offerings in India within the next 24 months and remains firm on its mission to ensure a minimum of 50 per cent localisation level for sourcing and manufacturing in their future product lines as well.

The expansion of Danfoss facilities in Pune is owing to the ease-of-doing-business in the city with strategic avenues to strengthen the company鈥檚 supply chain across air, water and land. The location also places the Danfoss Power Solutions facility in proximity with its customers across various sectors. The access and availability of land, infrastructure and skilled labour in the area has also been a key consideration for the company to strengthen its base in the city.

Speaking on the contribution of Danfoss Power Solutionsto the overall Danfoss Business, Ravichandran Purushothaman, President-Danfoss India Region said, 鈥淚ndia region is among the top-10 markets for Danfoss Global in terms of business, with Danfoss Power Solutions being a critical contributing element to the growth of our business in the Indian sub-continent. Over the last five years, Power Solutions business has seen a strong double digit CAGR growth with strong potential for further growth in India owing to the nation鈥檚 rising demand for infrastructure development, electrification, urbanisation, efficiency in agriculture, etc.鈥�

With its focus set on the Indian market, the company has a 3:1 ratio on products manufactured for India vis-脿-vis exports to several core global markets.
