Solar engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors and operation and maintenance (O&M) service providers have been notified by the Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL).
The winning bidders would be appointed for a three-year term. No earnest money deposit is required of prospective bidders.
Bidders in Category A should have designed, engineered, supplied, installed, tested, and commissioned grid-connected solar projects with a total installed capacity of 75 MW (AC) or more on a lump-sum turnkey or EPC basis in the previous seven years. One project must have a capacity of over 30 MW (AC) at a single location and be operational for at least six months.
Bidders must also have completed O&M for at least one grid-connected solar project with a capacity of over 10 MW (AC) for at least one year in the previous seven years.
Bidders must also have a minimum annual turnover of Rs 3 billion in the previous three financial years, as well as a minimum working capital of Rs 600 million.
If the bidder's working capital is negative or insufficient, they must submit a letter from their bank confirming the availability of a line of credit for Rs 600 million or more.
Bidders must have designed, engineered, supplied, installed, tested, and commissioned at least 125 MW (AC) of grid-connected solar projects on a lump-sum turnkey or EPC basis in the previous seven years. One project must have a capacity of over 50 MW (AC) at a single location and be operational for at least six months.
Bidders must also have completed O&M of at least one grid-connected solar project with a capacity of over 20 MW for at least one year in the previous seven years.
The deadline for bid submission is 5th October 2021.
GAIL issued a request for expressions of interest (EoI) in July 2021 for the acquisition of operational solar park projects. GAIL was looking into renewable energy opportunities with a 1 GW capacity target.
GAIL had also issued a request for proposals for the turnkey installation, erection, testing, and commissioning of grid-connected rooftop solar projects with a total capacity of 2.64 MW (DC) at its facility in Uttar Pradesh's Auraiya district.

unWOOD transforms plastic waste into durable wood alternative
unWOOD, a breakthrough innovation, is converting hard-to-recycle plastic waste into a durable alternative to natural wood. Developed through a proprietary process called Intelligent Compounding, unWOOD uses a Macro Molecular Fiber Matrix (MMFM) structure to replicate the strength, look, and feel of hardwood鈥攚ithout the environmental cost.Conceptualised by Dr Babu Padmanabhan, the material addresses key flaws in traditional plastic recycling by consuming minimal energy, using zero water, and generating no microplastics. 鈥淎ny application that introduces plastics into areas where it cannot be..
