Indore spends Rs 69 cr to enhance power distribution system in FY22

To enhance the power distribution system in the urban and rural areas, the Madhya Pradesh West Zone Electricity Distribution Company has spent Rs 69 crore in the current financial year. A new line of 502 km has been set up.

Amit Tomar, West distribution company (Discom) managing director (MD), told the media that, including the growing electricity demand, the population is also increasing rapidly.

He revealed that Patadi and Kacharia villages received the installation of two new 33/11 kilovolt grids, and the capacity of 55 grids is also increased now in the company area.

Tomar said that the 502 km line includes 101 km of 33 kilovolt, 293 km of 11 kilovolt, and 108 km of LT lines. In Malwa and Nimar, extra distribution transformers have also been installed.

In 383 places, the capacity of distribution transformers has been increased. Thus, the consumers can avoid the issue of tripping and voltage fluctuations.

The West Discom MD said that the work on the new Panther line on Ujjain Road and geographic information system (GIS) Smart Grid near Rau is still ongoing.

He said that both the projects would give state-of-the-art facilities to the consumer of the Indore urban limits.

Moreover, Tomar added that work is being done continuously to strengthen the power distribution system.

He said that in the current financial year, projects worth crores of rupees have been completed in the Indore city and the Indore rural circle.
