Mango Power unveils 12 kW/15 kWh home batteries

Mango Power announced that their new home battery solution, Mango Power M, was now available to US installers. It was mentioned that a new lithium-ferro-phosphate (LFP) battery option was introduced for rooftop solar owners.

According to the announcement, the LFP battery had a starting capacity of 15 kWh, with the possibility of scaling it up to 80 kWh on one 12 kW hybrid inverter. The hybrid inverter, which was built-in, offered a continuous power output of 12 kW, ensuring a reliable power supply for the entire home. Additionally, the company stated that the Mango Power M batteries could be stacked up to 120 kW, making them suitable for commercial energy storage solutions.

The batteries were procured from Contemporary Amperex Technology Co (CATL), a well-known LFP battery provider that collaborated with leading automakers like Ford, Tesla, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz.

Mango Power provided a 10-year warranty for both the battery and hybrid inverter. They assured that the battery's capacity would remain at 70% or more by the end of the 10-year period.

Regarding functionality, the battery allowed flexible electricity usage, enabling the storage of electricity from the grid or rooftop solar panels. It could be utilised to power homes during blackouts, sell electricity back to the grid during peak demand periods, and use stored electricity during times of high retail electricity prices.

In terms of installation, Mango Power claimed that their batteries could be installed within four hours, which was significantly faster compared to competitor systems that could take up to 25 hours to install. The company highlighted that their system could be compatible as either a first-time installation or as a retrofit to existing home energy systems.
