NHPC Issues Tenders for 1 MW Rooftop Solar Projects Under PM Surya Ghar

NHPC has issued an invitation for bids to install rooftop solar power projects with a cumulative capacity of 1,098 kW across its North-East Power Stations under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. The deadline for bid submissions is January 15, 2025, and the bids will be opened on January 21.

Bidders are required to submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 1.14 million. The selected bidders will be responsible for designing, supplying, installing, testing, and commissioning the rooftop solar systems, along with providing comprehensive operation and maintenance services for five years. The project must be completed within nine months.

To qualify, bidders must have experience in commissioning grid-connected solar photovoltaic projects with a total capacity of 400 kW or more, including at least one project of 40 kW. Alternatively, they should have EPC or developer experience on projects valued at Rs 40 million. Bidders who have completed at least one electrical substation at 11 kV or higher voltage level, including equipment such as 11 kV circuit breakers and power transformers, either as developers or EPC contractors, are also eligible.

Only solar modules from the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers are permitted for use in the project.

In a related development, NHPC recently invited bids for rooftop solar projects with a cumulative capacity of over 7.6 MW under the PM Surya Ghar program. Additionally, in October of this year, NHPC floated a tender to set up 1.2 GW of interstate transmission system-connected solar power projects across India.
