According to a statement by NLC India (NLCIL), NIGEL would handle the planning, participation in upcoming renewable energy tenders, as well as the execution and commissioning of green energy projects.

NLCIL Chairman and Managing Director, Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, stated that NIGEL aims to achieve a capacity of 5 GW by 2030 and intends to make significant contributions to reducing carbon emissions. The company's headquarters are located in Chennai, and it is expected to commence business operations in the near future, according to the statement.
