Patel Engineering Wins Rs 7.18 Bn NEEPCO Hydro Project In Arunachal

Patel Engineering (PEL) has emerged as the lowest bidder for a hydroelectric project awarded by North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) in Arunachal Pradesh. The contract, valued at Rs 7.18 billion, involves the 240 MW project located in Shi Yomi district.

The project, upon completion, is expected to generate approximately 1,000 million units of energy annually. This will enhance the energy infrastructure of the region and contribute significantly to sustainable development initiatives in the state.

The awarded scope of work includes the construction of civil structures and associated infrastructure. Patel Engineering will also oversee the testing and commissioning of hydro-mechanical plant and machinery required for the project鈥檚 operations. Ensuring the successful performance and operation of all generating units will also form a part of the company's responsibilities.

The project timeline has been set at 44 months from the date of award. Successful implementation of this project is expected to strengthen Patel Engineering鈥檚 presence in the hydropower segment and support India's efforts to boost renewable energy generation capacity in the northeastern region.
