Rajasthan Electronics invites bids for 200,000 multi-crystalline solar cells

Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Ltd (REIL) has invited bids for procuring 200,000 multi-crystalline solar cells of 4.62 W wattage output.
The tender has been floated for the procurement of solar cells under the domestic content requirement (DCR) category. Interested bidders will not be required to submit any earnest money deposit to participate in the bidding process.
The deadline to submit the tender is June 21, and the bids will be opened on June 22.
The cells should be free of holes, edge chipping, patches, marks, cracks, cuts, missing grid line, spots, mechanical damage, or colour and pattern mismatches.
The solar cells must be packed in boxes of 100, and one box must contain solar cells in a power band of 0.05 W. The total quantity should be supplied in 2-3 lots in two weeks from the delivery clearance.
The solar cells must be manufactured in India using undiffused silicon wafers, classified under the customs tariff head 3,818. Additionally, all the steps necessary for manufacturing the solar cells should have been carried out in India.
Before the tender's due date, the vendors who did not supply these cells before should submit a sample of one forty solar cells free of cost to REIL for evaluation and acceptance. REIL will consider new vendors for trial orders subject to the sample's approval and suitability of terms and conditions.
According to the tender documents, 25% of the tendered quantity has been earmarked for micro and small enterprise (MSE) suppliers. 20% has been allocated for procurement from MSEs owned by Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe entrepreneurs, out of the 25%.
