A solemn ceremony was held near the village of Kok Moinok-Pervoye, Issyk-Kul region, Kyrgyz Republic, to lay a capsule for the construction of the first wind farm of Rosatom. We have over 300 sunny days a year, and the power of the local wind is reflected in folk legends. Now we are witnessing the start of construction of a 100-megawatt wind power plant in the village of Kok-Moinok on the shore of Lake Issyk-Kul,鈥� said Akylbek Japarov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers 鈥� Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic. Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Alexey Overchuk noted that the laying of the capsule for the future wind farm is another step in the creation of a new clean energy sector in the Kyrgyz Republic. The project became possible thanks to the joint work of Russia and Kyrgyzstan. The construction of a wind power plant and the use of clean wind energy will reduce dependence on non-renewable energy sources, create better competitive conditions, including for competition in global markets.
