Rs 6.5 billion investment by CEF Group for producing biofuels in UP

In order to solve the issue of waste mismanagement and increase the production of biofuels, the government of Uttar Pradesh and the energy solutions business CEF Group have signed an MoU to establish many waste processing plants in different parts of the state. The group would invest Rs 6.5 billion in the plant construction, creating jobs for about 240 people, the company announced.

CEF Group CEO Maninder Singh Nayyar remarked, 鈥淭he largest state in the nation, Uttar Pradesh, needs effective waste management strategies, and we can provide them. The state as a whole will benefit from this deal in a number of ways.鈥

According to the company, captively cultivated Napier grass will also be used in organic waste processing plants, providing farmers with steady income. 鈥淚n industrial farming, this is a direct alternative for chemical fertilisers. Giving sustainable and natural/organic farming more room to grow on a bigger scale. As a result of our ability to create both biofuels and organic manure, the ecosystem will be sustainable,鈥 Nayyar remarked.

The company will turn organic waste, press mud from sugar mills, agricultural trash, and municipal solid refuse into biofuels and related products. Construction on the projects will begin by the end of 2023 and will be done in stages. The debris and land will come from various Uttar Pradesh municipalities. The CEF waste processing plant will process the project's complete setup, including the offtake arrangements for the Bio-CNG and organic manure or city compost, scientifically.
