Schneider Electric appoints Sanjay Sudhakaran as CEO & MD

Schneider Electric Infrastructure Ltd (SEIL) has appointed Sanjay Sudhakaran as Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for a term of five years, starting May 1.

The board of directors of SEIL accepted the recommendation of the nomination and remuneration committee and also approved the resignation of Bruno Bernard Dercle, who is currently the MD and CEO, under a comprehensive succession planning programme. Sudhakaran is currently the Vice President of Schneider Electric Digital Energy division and has been associated with Schneider Group since 2019. He has 25 years of experience in multiple industries and cultural settings.

In another development, the company appointed Amol Phatak as Additional Director from May 1. He is currently designated as Director for Industrial Strategy Deployment and has around 32 years of work experience.

Phatak has held leadership roles in Siemens, Areva and Schneider. He has graduated in the production engineering and executive management programme from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore.

SEIL is engaged in the business of manufacturing, designing, building and servicing technologically advanced products and systems for the electricity network.

Its key end-markets include power generation, transmission and distribution, oil and gas, Metro, and other electro intensive segments.

The company has four manufacturing facilities in India spread over three locations鈥擵adodara (two units), Kolkata (one unit) and Chennai (one unit).
