Siemens Gamesa to deliver turbines for Vena Energy wind project

Siemens Gamesa, the wind turbine manufacturer, secured an order from Vena Energy, a Singapore-based company to supply wind turbines for a wind project of 133 MW in Karnataka, India.

Under the terms of the agreement, for the wind project, Siemens Gamesa will deliver 37 of its 3. X platform turbines named SG 3.6-145.

Installation works at the site will most likely begin next year, and the turbines will be manufactured at Siemens Gamesa鈥檚 sites in India.

Siemens Gamesa and Vena Energy started their partnership with a 154 MW wind farm in 2015 which was located in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Vena Energy has installed over 300 MW of capacity in the country across wind facilities in different states, which include Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat.

This deal has expanded the company鈥檚 portfolio with Siemens Gamesa to almost 600 MW.

Siemens Gamesa India CEO Navin Dewaji said that they are pleased to strengthen the partnership with Vena Energy and deliver their latest technology which can help run a successful energy transition in India. They have worked together since 2015 and are confident of furthering this long-standing partnership in the upcoming years.

Vena Energy India head Monika Rathi said that they are partnering with Siemens Gamesa for the 3.6 MW turbines for their Blended Wind Power Project in Gudadur, Karnataka.

This project will make Vena Energy鈥檚 total capacity in the country 1,162MW while reinforcing its commitment towards augmenting the green energy transition locally.
