SJVN signs pact for electro mechanical works of Dhaulasidh Project

On February 11, Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) entered into a contractual agreement for the electro mechanical works of the Dhaulasidh Hydro Electric Project of 66 MW, in Himachal Pradesh with Voith Hydro Private Limited.

The contract agreement had been signed in the presence of Chairman & Managing Director, Nand Lal Sharma, by the SJVN Chief General Manager (ECD) S.K Sood, and Voith Hydro Vice President, Raj Vidyarthi.

On the special occasion, Geeta Kapur Director, S.P. Bansal Director, Akhileshwar Singh Director, Sushil Sharma, Director Sanjiv Kumar, CFO, and other senior officials of the SJVN and Voith Hydro were also present.

Nand Lal Sharma said that the Electro-Mechanical works are worth Rs. 136.64 crore and were awarded to Voith Hydro Private Limited.The Civil and Hydro-Mechanical works of this project were awarded on May 6, 2021.The construction activities at different civil components of the 66 MW project are in motion.

Sharma said that the foundation stone of the Dhaulasidh Hydro Electric Project was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 27, 2021.The Indian government has already given a green signal to the project cost worth Rs 687.97 crore along with budgetary support of a further Rs 21.6 crore for the project. The project is expected to be completed in May 2025.

The contract signing will start the manufacturing works of Dhaulasidh HEP鈥檚 ElectroMechanical components. Which will help in facilitating in increasing the speed of the project activities and realising the project completion target ahead of the schedule.
