SJVN to supply solar power from Bikaner project to Punjab

Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman and Managing Director, SJVN informed that a Power Usage Agreement (PUA) for 500 MW Solar Power has been signed with Punjab State Power Corporation (PSPCL) at Patiala, Punjab. This 500 MW solar power capacity shall be supplied to PSPCL by SJVN from its under-construction 1000 MW Bikaner solar power project in Rajasthan.

Nand Lal Sharma further apprised that the 1000 MW Bikaner solar power project is a part of the CPSU Scheme and is being developed under the Domestic Content Requirement mode.

SJVN had awarded India鈥檚 single largest EPC contract amounting to Rs 5491 crores for this project to M/s Tata Power Solar Systems Limited. The Project is being implemented by SJVN Limited through its wholly-owned subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL)and is slated for commissioning by March 2024.

Nand Lal Sharma further stated that on commissioning, the project will generate 2455 million units in its first year of operation and 56838 million units will be generated over a period of 25 years.
