Tata Power, Anand Group join forces for 4.4 MW RE captive project

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power dedicated to renewable energy, has entered into an agreement with the Anand Group, a prominent leader in the global automotive systems and parts industry, to establish a group captive power delivery arrangement (PDA) for a capacity of 4.4 MW AC.

Within the framework of this agreement, TPREL will oversee the generation of a substantial 10 million units of clean energy using renewable sources. This initiative is anticipated to effectively mitigate approximately 5500 tonnes of carbon emissions on an annual basis, perfectly in line with TPREL's overarching mission to forge a more environmentally friendly and cleaner future for its Commercial and Industrial (C&I) clienteles. By strategically harnessing the potential of renewable energy resources in collaboration with sustainability-oriented entities like the Anand Group, Tata Power aspires to establish a precedent, motivating other organisations to embrace ecologically conscious energy solutions.

Ashish Khanna, the CEO of TPREL, remarked, "This collective captive undertaking underscores our unwavering commitment to bolster the automotive sector's journey towards enhanced sustainability and environmental consciousness."

Notably, Tata Power and the Anand Group had previously collaborated on a Solar PV park power project, boasting a formidable capacity of 10.1 MW, situated in Maharashtra, India.

This innovative approach presents a viable means of providing affordable access to renewable energy for multiple participants, harmonising with the government's broader objectives concerning sustainability.

Rajeev Gera, the President of Business Development and Corporate Materials at the Anand Group, articulated, "Embodying the spirit of sustainable collaboration, this project signifies the convergence of visionary outlooks and precise goals aimed at cultivating green energy. Through the synergistic partnership between Tata Power Renewable and the Anand Group in this group captive endeavour, we are collectively charting a course and setting novel benchmarks for a more sustainable future."

With this strategic addition, TPREL's overall renewable energy capacity surges to an impressive 7,787 MW, encompassing both projects at various stages of implementation totalling 3,655 MW and an operational capacity of 4,132 MW, of which 3,139 MW is attributed to solar projects and 993 MW to wind power.
