Thermax secures orders worth Rs 545 cr for two flue gas systems

Thermax Limited, an Indian engineering company, has secured an order worth Rs 545.6 crore for two flue-gas desulphurisation (FGD) systems. The company has planned to develop the FGD systems for its two units of 500 MW capacity each in Uttar Pradesh.

According to a report, these FGD systems will be installed at their power plant to cut down sulphur emissions and comply with the air quality standards required for the power plants.

CEO and Managing Director of Thermax Limited, Ashish Bhandari, said that the company's technological abilities within air pollution and gaseous abatement, including FGD, where the company is already executing some large orders, resulted in winning this order.

He added that, along with supporting the customers in meeting statutory compliance regarding industrial pollution norms, the project supports the environment.

The project work includes designing, commissioning, engineering, manufacturing, construction and civil works of the FGD systems. The expected deadline for the project is 30 months.
