Three floating solar power plants to be set up in MP

State officials announced on Wednesday that the installation of three floating solar power plants in water reservoirs in Madhya Pradesh, which require a total investment of Rs 750,00 million, will soon begin. The details were discussed during a session on renewable energy on the first day of the "Invest Madhya Pradesh-Global Investors Summit" organised by the State Government of Madhya Pradesh. Sanjay Dubey, Principal Secretary, Madhya Pradesh's Energy and Renewable Energy Department, presided over the meeting.

According to officials, the construction of three floating solar power projects with a combined cost of Rs 750,00 million will begin shortly. The 600 MW floating solar power plant in the Omkareshwar dam area of Khandwa district will be supplemented by these projects. According to officials, the summit resulted in the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 160,000 million in the energy and renewable energy sectors. Hardeep Singh Dang, Renewable Energy Minister, Madhya Pradesh, reassured the investors that setting up their units in the state would not pose any challenges.
