TVS Motor and Tata Power ink pact for e-2W charging infra

TVS Motor Company and Tata Power have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to build a dedicated electric two-wheeler charging infrastructure in India to boost the electric mobility sector in the country.
According to the media, the partnership aims to build a regular AC charging network as well as a DC fast-charging network for electric two-wheelers.
The two companies will look into the possibility of using solar energy to power some TVS Motor locations.
Joint managing director of TVS Motor Company, Sudarshan Venu told the media that TVS Motor is extremely excited and proud to be a pioneering partner with Tata Power, which is leading the way in creating a wide and sustainable charging infrastructure in the country.
Imagine a large and reliable charging network for two- and three-wheeler electric vehicle (EV) customers across India, powered by renewable energy sources like solar, in line with TVS Motors vision of electrification.
CEO and MD of Tata Power, Praveer Sinha told the media that through this collaboration, they will further leverage expertise to enhance synergy between sustainable mobility and renewable energy integration, resulting in the creation of a robust EV charging ecosystem across India.
Within the next few months, TVS plans to expand the presence of iQube Electric to over 25 cities, and the partnership will provide customers of the e-scooter with access to Tata Power's charging network through the TVS Motor customer connect app and the Tata Power EZ Charge app across India.
In Bengaluru, Delhi, Pune, Chennai, Kochi, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Surat, Vizag, Jaipur, and Ahmedabad, the TVS electric scooter is available.
In over 120 Indian cities, Tata Power operates a network of over 5,000 home chargers and 700 public chargers.
