Vikram Solar commissions 85 MW solar plant in Uttar Pradesh

On Wednesday, Vikram Solar announced the commissioning of an 85 megawatt (MW) solar plant for National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd (NTPC) at Bilhaur, in Uttar Pradesh.

Vikram Solar told the media that combining the latest 85 MW project at Bilhaur with Vikram Solar's newly approved 140 MW project for NTPC at the same spot added up to a 225 MW capacity project, and it became the largest project in a single location in Uttar Pradesh. The 85 MW solar project has been developed across 400 acres. The expected energy production of this solar project in Uttar Pradesh is 200 million units (MU).

The solar plant is expected to decrease 4.57 tonnes of carbon dioxide and can power 88,905 houses per year.

Saibaba Vutukuri, Chief Executive Officer, Vikram Solar, in a statement, said that they are proud to say that they have a portfolio of commissioned and under-construction projects equaling 708 MW with NTPC as it recognises their commitment and their focus towards customer-centricity. They are hopeful of a maintained journey with NTPC towards achieving the company's green energy goals.

Vikram Solar's annual PV (photo-voltaic) module production capacity is 1.2 GW, and the corporation has transported over 3.1 GW PV modules globally.

Vikram Solar Ltd (previously Vikram Solar Pvt Ltd) is one of the major solar energy solutions providers, practising efficient PV module production and comprehensive EPC solutions.
