Waaree plans to increase module production capacity to 12 GW by 2023

Solar equipment manufacturer Waaree announced that it would increase its module production capacity from nine GW to 12 GW by March 2023. A 9 GW module production plant is currently in use by Waaree, a top producer of solar panels. The company is also adding to its module manufacturing capacity, bringing it to 12 GW for a 650-watt module by March 2023.

This will be the world's largest capacity for producing modules outside of China.

Waaree is the only company in India approved by ALMM (Approved List of Models and Manufacturers) to ship high-wattage panels from its manufacturing plants in Surat, Chikhli, Tumb, and Nandigram, including panels with 650WP, 600WP, and 540WP.

Module production for the domestic market will begin in Q3 2022 at Greater Noida in the NCR with the addition of Indo Solar.

According to a survey by JMK, Waaree has taken over as the top provider of solar modules and currently accounts for 17% of all shipments. It further stated that high-efficiency mono-perc technology made up over 85% of the modules shipped.
