The Guwahati Ring Road project has received a significant boost, with the National Highways Authority of India awarding a Rs 57.3 billion contract to Infracon Pvt Ltd. Set to begin after the 2025 monsoon, the 121-km project will be executed under the DBFOT model over a 30-year concession period. Aimed at easing congestion and enhancing connectivity, the ring road will divert freight and inter-state traffic away from the city. Developed in three phases, it includes a greenfield corridor, highway widening, and a new Brahmaputra bridge. The initiative aligns with the Gati Shakti vision, promising improved logistics and market access across the Northeast.Contact: National Highways Authority of IndiaWebsite https://nhai.gov.in/Tel 91 11 25076503
