The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) is set to roll out a fleet of 500 low-floor electric buses. The move will help DTC expand its electric fleet to about 1,300 vehicles. The Delhi government plans to replace all CNG low-floor buses in the city by the end of 2025. Kailash Gahlot, Minister, Transport, Delhi, said that the new electric buses have an impressive driving range of 225 km on a single charge. Other key features of the new e-buses include CCTV cameras, panic buttons and provisions for live video streaming in emergencies. They also feature two-way communication with a control room and GPS units for live-tracking. The move to induct electric buses also aligns with the government's strategy to phase out older CNG buses.Contact: Delhi Transport CorporationTel: 011-23370236Website: www.dtc.delhi.gov.in
