Ranchi Smart City Corporation has introduced sensor-based street lighting across two 22-km lanes, featuring 1,300 yellow LED lights. This initiative aims to enhance safety and visibility for commuters, forming part of the broader Smart Cities Mission to improve urban infrastructure. The lighting system includes 160-watt LEDs at intersections and 120-watt LEDs on regular stretches. Installed by Larsen & Toubro (L&T), the project is expected to complete by April 2024, with Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (JBVNL) taking over power supply post-monitoring.
