Avant launches more powerful compact wheel loaders

Avant Tecno told the media that its new compact articulated wheel loaders are among the most powerful in their size class.

The 645i and 650i loaders run on new 44 hp Kubota engines, an 18 hp boost over the earlier 600 series machines, including the 630 and 635.

It gives the new loaders 203-pound ft of pulling force and 87-pound ft of torque.

The company said it weighs around 3,600 pounds, which can easily transport and ride on sensitive terrain.

It has 23.6 inches telescopic lifting booms and can reach 9.3 ft height to the hinge pin of the attachment coupling plate. The tipping load is 2,624 pounds, achieved by a low centre of gravity and a rigid articulation joint.

The hydraulic boom automatically levels to keep the load horizontal when lifted and lowered. The articulated steering enables the loader to turn without leaving tire marks. Each wheel has its hydraulic drive motor.

The 645i is a single-speed machine with a speed of 8 mph, while the 650i has two speeds and can travel up to 15.5 mph. Its auxiliary hydraulic oil flow is 19.8 gallons per minute.

The standard loaders come with open ROPS/FOPS cabs. The customers can upgrade to the L-Cab, to protect from wind and rain or the new GT cab with heating, sound and vibration absorption, windscreen washer and wiper, cab air filter, and front and rear mudguards.

The company said that the machines provide unrestricted views of the attachment and work area to the operator.

It added that the 4-cylinder turbocharged engine meets the Tier-4 Final standards by diesel oxidation catalyst and particulate filter.

The loaders come with an attachment plate, including hydraulic quick locking pins. The hydraulic hoses are connected to the loaders鈥 standard multi-connector.
