Cat鈥檚 next-gen small dozers come remote control-ready

Caterpillar's next-generation small dozers 鈥� D1, D2 and D3 鈥� now feature an improved suite of operator assist technologies and come remote-control ready from the factory.
The updated operator-assist technologies offered include Stable Blade Lift and Tilt, Blade Load Monitor, Slow Slip Traction Control, and AutoCarry, said Derek Furr, Cat building construction products division product application specialist.
In addition, the three dozers can be equipped with an option for remote-control Cat Command for dozing, plus added mounting features and wire harness routing paths to streamline installation of third-party grade-control systems.
Cat operator assist ease-of-use features are available on D1-D3 dozers. Dealer Command for dozing installation kits are also now available, and machines in the field can be retrofitted with the technology.
鈥淎ny next-gen dozer, so anything from August 2020 or later, can be outfitted with the technology on both the operator assist features and Cat Command functionality,鈥� Furr said.
The suite of operator assist technologies on the small dozers is an expansion and improvement of existing technology.
鈥淭he features offer a common technology solution with Cat medium dozers and are compatible with third-party grade systems for greater flexibility,"
Furr said, noting that the new Blade Load Monitor, Low Slip Traction Control, and AutoCarry are integrated into Cat Grade 3D with Assist.
