Gadkari stresses need for R&D in construction equipment

[Gadkari for desi construction equipment manufacturing industry to do research Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has called for forming an organisation specially for the Indian construction equipment manufacturing industry, which could do research and produce appropriate technology for the future.

Gadkari said there should be an organisation similar to the automobiles sector-specific ARAI. Addressing ICEMA鈥檚 Annual Session 2022, Gadkari said his ministry would support the making of such an organisation.

The Minister emphasised on research and development into equipment, and asked manufacturers to concentrate on fuel efficiency.
Gadkari also stressed on the importance of bio-LNG, bio-CNG and hydrogen as alternate fuels for cost-saving and reduction in pollution. Talking about innovation and electric vehicles, he said it is time to change and manufacturing of JCBs on electric should be started.
Gadkari also emphasised the need for skilled manpower, appropriate training and road safety for long term planning. He said this industry is giving strength to Indian economy and in making 鈥楢tmanirbhar Bharat鈥�.
