India Unveils First Locally Made Runway Cleaning System

In a significant step forward for the Government of India鈥檚 鈥楳ake in India鈥 campaign, the country鈥檚 first indigenously developed airport runway rubber and paint removal system, named CleanJet, has been launched. The advanced equipment, built by Bengaluru-based MSME Anlon Technology Solutions Limited, marks India鈥檚 entry into manufacturing this highly specialised aviation technology.

Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Shobha Karandlaje, unveiled the system, which is officially called the Runway Rubber and Paint Removal Equipment System (RRPRES). The system has been entirely designed and manufactured in India and procured by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), which had previously relied on imports for such equipment.

The AAI has already ordered four CleanJet units for deployment at airports in Agartala, Kolkata, and Chennai. In addition, similar equipment has been supplied to Noida International Airport and Cochin International Airport. Developed through a technology transfer partnership with Germany鈥檚 Bucher Corporation, CleanJet represents a major milestone for Anlon, a company with nearly two decades of experience and now the first Indian MSME to manufacture aviation ground support equipment.

Minister Karandlaje commended Anlon鈥檚 innovation and highlighted the importance of such domestically produced high-tech equipment in strengthening India鈥檚 aviation infrastructure. In addition to CleanJet, Anlon Technology has also indigenised the production of several other airport and urban development technologies, further supporting India鈥檚 goal of building a self-reliant economy.
