Punjab Govt launches online portal for property related services

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has, on May 5, launched an online citizen portal virtually to provide all the property-related services comfortably and effortlessly.

The portal has been launched to boost the efficiency in the functioning of all urban development authorities across the state.

Sarabjit Singh, Principal Secretary Housing, informed the cabinet that the portal was developed to simplify business workflow/process into each service without altering the original system, in a presentation at the portal's launch during the cabinet meeting.

He said that all the notes and documents are digitally signed, and thumb marked on a biometric device, ensuring that the work is not shared with anyone.

The media release said that the information about master plans, rules, acts, tender/auction, notices/dues of property owners/property details would be available through a single website. The software can be easily arranged for any new service, any department as at the core, the functioning of all the government processes is similar.

The input forms of this unique online portal have been carefully designed in a simple format to enable an average citizen to understand it quickly and fill it. It would ensure a completely paperless functioning, from application to the final output, in a time-bound manner.

The entire organisational steps have been mentioned in the software, with posting an update at every position. The steps of the processing and the time to be taken are clearly mentioned at the top of each application, along with the documents that have to be submitted at each step.

The release stated that the data cannot be tampered with as it is 256 bit encrypted, under the digital signatures of the chief administrator and one more officer.
