IT Man

The newly formed state of Telangana is in a hurry to set breakneck pace to develop its infrastructure and transform from India´s youngest state to its most connected state. The task of ensuring that the city of Hyderabad, the mecca of IT in India, retains its crown, is on Jayesh Ranjan, Secretary IT, Government of Telengana, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Telangana State Industrial and Infrastructure Corporation, Government of Telangana, who is on a mission. An MoU was signed between Google and Telangana that would see the IT major setting up its biggest campus of Asia in Hyderabad by investing about Rs 1,000 crore. The campus is expected to have an office space of about 2 million sq ft spread across 7.2 acre at Gachibowli in the IT corridor with construction work likely to commence around 2016 summer. Ranjan recently accompanied KT Rama Rao, Minister for Information Technology, Telangana, to America to woo investors for the state development. There, meetings were held with Satya Nadella, CEO, Microsoft and also a visit to the Amazon campus, giving just a glimpse of what could be in store for the IT city´s future. One thing is clear: With the pace adopted by Ranjan in bringing IT giants to the state, the day is not far off when Hyderabad will become synonymous with IT in India.
