Ashok Leyland and Aidrivers ink MoU for autonomous vehicle technology

Ashok Leyland, a leading truck and bus manufacturer, has partnered with Aidrivers, a company focused on AI-enabled autonomous solutions for industrial mobility, to develop Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled autonomous vehicles.

According to a statement, the two companies have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a long-term relationship in which they would combine their expert knowledge and experience to push forward jointly in this fast-evolving industry.

Aidrivers will provide AI-enabled autonomous solutions, while Ashok Leyland will supply vehicle platforms as part of the agreement. The partners will collaborate to identify potential markets and collaboration opportunities.

There are obvious areas where Aidrivers' and Ashok Leyland's expertise, resources, reputation, and technical know-how can complement each other, particularly in satisfying the industry's aspirations for a sustainable future, according to Dr Rafiq Swash, founder and CEO of Aidrivers.

The agreement calls for the development of self-driving cars, industrial mobility equipment, and other autonomous industrial automation solutions that can benefit fleet operators, logistics providers, and others. The MoU covers collaborative marketing and shared market access as applicable in connection to specific project opportunities.
