PM Modi to launch projects of Rs 6,300 cr in UP鈥檚 Bundelkhand

On Friday, PM Narendra Modi will dedicate and begin several projects worth Rs 6,300 crore in the Bundelkhand area of Uttar Pradesh.
Also, the day will mark the birth anniversary of Rani Laxmi Bai of Jhansi.
The Prime Minister, along with defence minister Rajnath Singh, will launch various vital initiatives focused on piped water supply and employment in defence units in the forthcoming Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor at Rashtra Raksha Samarpan Parv, which will be conducted in Jhansi from November 17 to 19 as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations. The defence minister will inaugurate the event.
The PM鈥檚 visit is likely to enhance the BJP campaign for the 2022 assembly polls in one of the most backward areas of Uttar Pradesh.
In Jhansi, PM would lay the foundation of a Rs 400 crore plant for the propulsion system of anti-tank guided missiles. Bharat Dynamics Limited is installing the unit as part of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor Project.
Additionally, he would give the indigenously designed and built equipment to the armed forces.
The light combat helicopter made by HAL will be given to the IAF chief. He will hand over the drones made by Indian start-ups to the army and electronic warfare suits to the navy.
The Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor has nodes at Aligarh, Agra, Chitrakoot, Lucknow, Jhansi and Kanpur.
PM Modi will additionally launch the National Cadet Corps Alumni Association of which he would be the first member. He will begin 100 new co-educational Sainik Schools. These will be made with the help of the private sector over the coming two years.
Developed at a cost of Rs 2,600 crore in Mahoba, the Arjun Sahayak project is the largest project that the PM dedicated to the people. This project on the Dhasan river would render irrigation facilities to 1.5 lakh farmers in 168 villages of Hamirpur, Banda and Mahoba.
Approximately four lakh people would get water and irrigation would be rendered to an area of 15000 hectares. The irrigation capacity under this project would be increased to 44,382 hectares later, as per a government statement.
