Cityflo, Mumbai鈥檚 premium daily commute service, is scaling up its operations with the introduction of 100 bespoke buses, developed in collaboration with Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles (VECV). The initiative aims to enhance service agility, minimise travel times, and accelerate route expansion across the city.
The new 27-seater fleet represents a pivotal shift in urban transit, enabling Cityflo to launch routes more swiftly and increase service frequency. The compact design facilitates faster occupancy rates, making operations more sustainable in high-demand corridors.
Reducing Travel Times in a Congested City
With Mumbai鈥檚 vehicle count nearing five million and over 650 new vehicles entering the roads daily, traffic congestion remains a pressing concern. Cityflo鈥檚 smaller, more manoeuvrable fleet is designed to navigate the city's dense roadways, cutting commute times for professionals.
Enhancing Flexible Transport Solutions
Beyond peak-hour commutes, Cityflo鈥檚 expanded fleet will cater to the growing demand for off-peak travel, providing professionals with greater flexibility. The smaller bus format allows for adaptive scheduling, ensuring a consistent and dependable service throughout the day.
Aiming for 500 Buses by 2026
Cityflo plans to deploy 500 buses across five metro cities by 2026, further enhancing business district connectivity nationwide. At present, the company helps replace approximately 800,000 car trips annually, easing traffic congestion and cutting carbon emissions by over 27,422 tonnes per year.
