GCPL to build Rs 5.15Bn manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu

Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) has officially announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu state government. This strategic move involves the construction of a manufacturing facility near Chennai, entailing an investment of Rs 515 crore over the forthcoming five years. The facility's primary purpose is to function as a manufacturing hub for esteemed brands like Cinthol, Godrej Expert Rich Cr猫me, Godrej Selfie Shampoo Hair Colour, and Goodknight.

Anticipating a positive impact on employment, the establishment of this facility is projected to generate more than 400 job opportunities within Tamil Nadu. In line with its commitment to diversity and inclusion, the facility envisions a workforce characterized by gender balance and inclusivity. The company's goal is to employ women for 50% of the positions at the facility and also to incorporate 5% of employees from the LGBTQ and people with disabilities (PWD) communities.

Nisaba Godrej, the Executive Chairperson of GCPL, mentioned that with establishing this facility, they aim to generate over 400 job opportunities in Tamil Nadu. The facility is designed to have a workforce that is inclusive and gender balanced. Their intention is to have 50% of women employees at the facility along with 5% of employees from the LGBTQ and people with disabilities (PWD) communities.
