Govt earmarks Rs 1,125 cr for projects in AP鈥檚 Rajamahendravaram

On Sunday, MP Margani Bharat Ram told the media that the centre would grant the heritage tag to Rajamahendravaram city. A detailed report has been submitted to the centre by the state government.

He said that the pipeline project cost Rs 1,125 crore. From the total, Rs 500 crore would be sanctioned in the next couple of years under the National Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY) to boost heritage conservation.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was informed about the various development projects and sanctioned Rs 125 crore to transform the city. To fill the industry, the MP said that the plans are advancing to acquire land for a special economic zone (SEZ) in the outskirts of the city.

He said that the cricket stadium is being constructed on the premises of the Government Arts College. The MP instructed the department to divert NH traffic to connect Diwancheruvu to Kadiyapulanka. He further said that the flyover construction at Morampudi Junction would begin in November.

Bharat Ram said that the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRC) is preparing to wrest the mayoral post of the Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC), for which polls will soon be announced by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The limit of RMC is 52 divisions and 4.70 lakh voters, while the mayor's positions are in reserve in the open category (OC) General category.
