Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has approved a Rs 2.20 billion allocation from the state government as part of the Kalupur Railway Station Redevelopment Project, which aims to enhance the Kalupur and Sarangpur railway overbridges.

The investment will fund the four-laning and renovation of the overbridges, with the state鈥檚 share being half of the total Rs 440 crore budget. This move aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi鈥檚 vision of improving both heritage and infrastructure under the 鈥榁irasat Bhi, Vikas Bhi鈥� initiative.

The Kalupur Railway Overbridge, constructed in 1915, and the Sarangpur Railway Overbridge, built in 1940, have long exceeded their intended lifespan. Currently, Kalupur has three lanes with footpaths, while Sarangpur has two lanes. Given their age, safety concerns, and growing traffic demands, both will be demolished and rebuilt as four-lane structures.

Additionally, Rs 52.83 crore has been allocated for a new overbridge at LC-100-2E, which will improve transport links between Radhanpur, Bhilot, and Suigam, making it easier for both citizens and businesses.

In total, the project encompasses Rs 272.75 crore, which will improve road infrastructure and connectivity, reducing congestion and saving time for commuters.
